At The Inner Peace Collective, we believe in radical self-care. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we take care of our energy, our physical bodies, our mental balance. Connecting to our song, our hearts, we nourish our Inner Peace. This connection is what our Collective is all about.
We are a community of experienced healing practitioners, artists, singers, heart-centered souls here to help you experience conscious connection with the world around you. Our sacred gathering spaces will provide classes, workshops, retreats and one on one treatments to help you connect to your core and find that Inner Peace you have been searching for.
Where your experiences are held is just as important as the experience itself. These highly vibrational spaces are safe, nurturing and expansive and perfect for transformation and healing. Classes, workshops, retreats and events are held at The Church in Tryon, NC. The Church also is the home of the Art Gallery of Caroline Young and founder of the Inner Peace Collective. One on one treatments are held at Sage Mountain Spa in Landrum, SC owned by Madelynn Marie. Some one on one sessions are also available via Zoom.
The Inner Peace Collective looks forward to connecting with you at The Church or at Sage Mountain Wellness. Your wellness journey is waiting ….

My intention as a painter of abstract art is to share a sense of wonder, curiosity, and joy with the viewer. Color is a key component along with the interaction of shape, line and space. My work often reveals suggestions of animal and human figures that allow the viewer to imagine and create their own stories. I am painting mine: my fascination with mystery, nature, spirituality, wilderness, wild things and places. The untouched ~ the places I long to roam. I travel as I paint.
Intuition guides my decisions resulting in a freedom of expression and a sense of being in flow. This is a beautiful state of focus and enjoyment and excitement around the act of painting. It has a meditative quality as time passes without notice.
Brian Rutenberg, one of my many favorite artists, expresses it this way: “ Art happens when the intellectual and visceral collide head on at 200mph; when thinking and feeling smash so violently into one another that they fuse into a third thing.”
Painting is a process of exploration and discovery. It allows me to remain a student, always experimenting, not attached to the outcome. I am often very surprised at what shows up. The freedom to explore and embrace a childlike sense of wonder is essential. Michael Mew said, “ The meaning of a piece often becomes apparent only in the end. It’s like finding a secret message that you unknowingly sent yourself.” I consider the process of making art a conversation with the universe.

Abigail Dowd is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music weaves together the rich tapestry of her Southern roots, personal experiences, and a deep connection to the natural world. Raised beneath the longleaf pines of North Carolina’s Sandhills region, Dowd’s upbringing instilled in her a profound appreciation for storytelling and the healing power of music.
Her journey into music was not linear. After working in city politics and running an art school, Dowd felt a calling to reconnect with herself and her heritage. She packed her great-grandfather’s guitar and embarked on a transformative journey through Florence, Italy, Ireland, and Maine. What began as a brief respite turned into an eight-year odyssey of self-discovery and musical exploration.
Upon returning to North Carolina, Dowd released her debut album, Don’t Wake Me (2017), followed by Not What I Seem (2019), both met with critical acclaim. Her third album, Beautiful Day (2021), was produced by Grammy-nominated engineer Jason Richmond and recorded live with a full band at the Fidelitorium. The album reflects themes of resilience, hope, and the beauty found in everyday moments.
Dowd’s upcoming album Saints & Warriors (Nov 14, 2025), delves deeper into ancestral memory and spiritual reflection, blending folk, blues, and gospel with an evocative, mystical edge.
